Sifted Flour or Flour, Sifted?
Did you know that there are two ways of sifting flour? There totally is. Let me explain…..
Let’s say your recipe calls for 1 cup of sifted flour. This means that you will sift the flour into your 1-cup measuring cup. When it is full, level it off with the flat part of a butter knife.
On the other hand, if your recipe calls for 1 cup of flour, sifted, you would spoon the flour into your 1-cup measuring cup, level it off with the flat part of a butter knife and then sift it.
It does make a difference. The two ways yield different amounts of flour and could change the way a recipe turns out.
